Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost to be a member of Funderbug?

Nothing, it is free for everyone.

How do I sign up my organization?

Fill out and submit information HERE. You must be an authorized representative of that organization to sign it up.

I don't know if my school will sign up, but our group wants to use Funderbug to raise money. Can we join?

YES. If you are a group within an organization, i.e. a class raising money, an athletic team or a youth group, you are considered your own organization.

I know a lot of people who shop on line. If I send them directly to participating merchants to shop, will my organization get credit?

No! The only way for your organization to get credit is for shoppers to click on the links in your organization's merchant list. That's how the merchants keep track of the funds. If you go directly to the participating merchants web site using a bookmark or entering the URL in your browser, your organization will NOT get the credit.

While people can come to Funderbug and search for your organization, the best way to invite all your friends and family to come to support your organization is to tell them about Funderbug using the flyers on your organization's merchant page. Those flyers contain a Web address that will take them DIRECTLY to your organization's merchant page. That way you'll be sure that all the shopping they do by following those links will result in funds going to your organization.

Can I take advantage of the merchant specials offered if I am not affiliated with any organization?

Absolutely! Go to our participating organization list and chose any organization. You'll be directed to a merchant list that will allow you to shop, and take advantage of all merchant specials. A portion of your purchases will go to the organization you chose.

What if I don’t see my favorite stores on the Funderbug site?

We urge our shoppers to bring to our attention any frequently shopped stores that they do not find on our site. Go to Contact Us and send us your request. We will make every attempt to get these stores added as quickly as possible.

If I go to merchant site through FUNDerbug, leave to go to different site, and go back to the merchant Web site, will my purchase count?

You must click through Funderbug every time you shop at a merchant site. While some of our merchant sites are set up to recognize you on return visits, the only way to make sure your purchases count is to click through the link on FUNDerbug. Even if you click through FUNDerbug and make a purchase, then surf elsewhere on the Web and return to that store and make a second purchase, your second purchase may not be a qualified purchase and your organization will not be eligible for cash back. Additionally, if you are at a FUNDerbug participating merchant site and click on a link on their site that takes you to another site and you make a purchase, your purchase will not be recognized as a FUNDerbug qualified purchase and your organization will not be eligible for Cash Back on those purchases. If you use multiple windows on your browser, the window in which you shop at a merchant must have originated at Funderbug to be a qualified purchase and eligible for Cash back to your organization.

Do gift cards qualify for cash back to the participating organization?

The gift card policies vary by merchant and each merchant's terms for gift card purchases change frequently. Therefore, we do not guarantee that the purchase of gift cards will qualify for cash back to your organization.

Can I have my funds go to more than one organization?

Funds go to the organization you select to support. However, you can select one organization by using their merchant page, and shopping online, then exit and select another organization to have your subsequent purchases go to the second organization. Always be sure to use the merchant page of the organization you wish to support to access the online merchants to make sure that your funds go to the organization you wish.

I went to my organization's page, clicked on the link to a store and I'm about to submit my order, but I don't see anything there about the money going my organization. How do I know that money will go where it's supposed to?

When you click on the merchant link, Funderbug puts a file (cookie) on your computer so the site you're shopping at KNOWS that the sale came from someone shopping for your organization thru Funderbug.

A sophisticated tracking system allows Funderbug to keep track of purchases made by a shopper and the designated recipient of the funds.

I know of an organization that may be interested in using Funderbug to raise money. Can I sign them up?

While you can tell them about Funderbug, only an authorized representative of that organization can sign up that organization.

How does my organization get paid?

Funds are distributed within 5 business days of our receipt of the funds from our merchants. You have the option of being paid by check or thru PayPal.

How can our organization see purchases made on our behalf and how much we have made?

Each merchant has it own terms for payment. A completed purchase may be confirmed by one merchant in 24 hours, but some can take up to 30 days. A confirmed purchase is one that has been paid, delivered and confirmed received. Therefore, the information is not available in real time. Right now, your organization will receive a report of purchases and earnings once per month.

As part of our continuing to efforts to meet the needs of our organizations, we will be adding a new feature in 2008. It will allow your Funderbug site administrator to see purchases and the earnings as soon they are confirmed.

I don’t have a Paypal account, how can I get one?
